A man in the U.K. tested positive for HIV-1 3 years ago and then tested negative a year later. It is the first case of 'documented' clearance of the virus; but there is a catch. The man does not want to get tested anymore to confirm his HIV-1 negative status for some reason. He also does not want to volunteer for further studies that could help understand how he cleared the virus, if it is really the case. Was his first diagnosis a false positive? On the other hand, maybe his negative test was a false negative a year later? Is it a miracle or he is just a lucky man with a very effective immune system? What do you think?
